Long Term Archival Project: Recording the People of the Brickworks
I am creating a long term record of as many of the men and women who worked in the brickworks as possible. This project is intended to support anyone tracing their connections to the brickmaking communities of Stewartby and the wider MK42 and MK43 area.
Invitation for families to share stories, names, memories and photographs
I would be grateful for any information that families are willing to share. This may include names, memories, photographs, or short stories about relatives who worked in the brickworks. Every contribution helps to preserve the history of the community and ensures that future generations can understand the lives of those who came before them.
Donation of documents, photographs or objects
If anyone has London Brick Company related documents, photographs or objects that they no longer wish to keep, I would be very grateful to receive them. If the material is new to my collection, I will preserve it within the archive. If I already hold the information, I will pass it on to the London Brick Company Archivist, Bedfordshire Archives, or to a gentleman who holds his own LBC collection and hopes one day to open a small museum. This helps ensure that nothing of historical value is lost.
